Extending Theme.Dialog Problem

 I've extended Theme.Dialog to use a different color as per the sample
in the ApiDemos project but for some reason it does not use the theme
properly in my project. I created a new project and it works perfectly
fine there. The main problem here is that it does not show as floating
in my project. Instead, it sets the rest of the screen black except
for what would be the dialog window, where it uses the correct colors,
etc... Any ideas? I am beating my head against the wall here. Thanks
in advance.

1. "Enter" Key Virtual Keyboard

I am trying to pop up and down virtual Keyboard programmatically for a
custom control. I use a surface view and exercise virtual keyboard
using Input Method Manager ( as show below)

                   minputMethodManager = (InputMethodManager)
this.getSystemService( Context.INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE);
                IBinder windowToken = etxt.getWindowToken();

minputMethodManager.toggleSoftInputFromWindow(windowToken, 0,
                        isKeyboardOn = false;
InputMethodManager.SHOW_FORCED, 0);
                        isKeyboardOn = true;

With this I am able to successfully able to control displaying/hiding
the virtual keyboard, but not able to receive KeyEvent for "enter" key
( also, Caps lock, alt etc). All other key hit the View's key event
handler ( also key dispatcher in activity). Why is "enter" key not
generating any keyevent ? I am missing out an setting for Input
Manager ?

2. Motorola Android Devices Coming Sept. 10

Motorola has finally woken up from its deep slumber and seems all set
to release its Android based handsets very soon, if we go by recent
Yes, we have heard about the imminent release of Motorola's Android
handsets since ages now, but this one has turned official! The company
has issued invitations for a press event for what is arguably an
Android centric event. As for the rumors about Motorola's Android
based phones, we're referring to the much talked about Sholes concept
(which mind you, is a {*filter*}, cool looker) and the rather
straightforward looking Morrison. What we do not know is whether
Motorola is announcing one of the two above mentioned handsets or both
together. Why? They might announce an entirely new handset as well! We
never know!

So, all eyes have turned towards this scheduled event on Sept. 10, at
San Francisco. This would incidentally just a week after the Nokia
World 09 event at Barcelona. September looks all set to be ONE busy
month for all us mobile phone enthusiasts!
