 Hi all,

I've just downloaded the Cupcake SDK. I'm afraid I can't find MapView
anymore... Any help?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "can't find".

In the SDK Reference Guide, there is:
 http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/location/index.html

Sigh. Sent that reply a wee bit early. Let's try this again...

 http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/location/index.html

This leads you to:

 http://code.google.com/android/add-ons/google-apis/

There you can get reference documentation on it.

If by "can't find", you mean your code is not finding things, you need
to have an AVD and project both targeting "SDK level 3".

More precisely, you need an AVD and a project that reference the
"Google Apis level 3" addon, which contains maps. If you just use the
"Android 1.5" target, you won't have maps.

 Thanks Mark & Raphael,

By "can't find it" I meant that I could not find MapView in the SDK
reference accessible through ./docs on my computer :-) After making a
simple search, I found it in ./add-ons which corroborates what Raphael
just said. I know what to do ;-)!

Thanks again

1. parent activity finishes before child returns

Hi,

I'm currently debugging with the Dev Tools, so this entire situation
may be related to that. I'm not fully confident of that though, so I
figured I'd check and make sure.

I have an Activity that is calling startActivityForResult on another
activity. Because of the 'Immediately Destroy Activities ' setting,
this activity is immediately destroyed after the child is launched.
However, when the child activity finishes, the parent activity doesn't
exist to return a result to, so the program just hangs on the black
screen without doing anything.

It's highly possible that this is related to the Dev Tools, so i'm not
sure if it's possible for Android to kill a parent activity while its
child its child is alive. But if that case is possible, i'm obviously
not handling it.

Any help or information to help me better understand the life cycle
and situation would be wonderful!

Thanks!
-Tom

(PS ~ I'm using this setting in order to help me force
onSaveInstanceState correctly, so any advice you can give about would
be helpful as well. thanks!)

2. ASM(Android Screen Monitor) is not work with my device

I have a sample board(using qualcomm snapdragon) for developing
android based phone.
But screen is not attached yet.
I started to find utility for displaying on PC monitor.

ASM(Android Screen Monitor) is exactly what I want.

But it is not works well with my sample board.
So many jitters are fully inside.
I can catch only something what there are some kind of changes.

It works well with emulator.
