 Hi all,
My name is Vasanth Sridharan and I'm working on a story for Silicon Alley
Insider (www.alleyinsider.com) about Android Developers and what the general
feeling from the group is as we near the launch date.

There have been a lot of updates over the last week or so that have seemed
to address a lot of the concerns that developers have had with the platform
(the new SDK, the preview of Android Market, the announcement of the ADC I
winners). So my question is, are developers excited about Android again? Is
there still a lot of worry going into the first launch? Or, conversely, have
you never been been worried about the platform?

I know there are still some outstanding issues, like the Bluetooth API, so
how important are those?

Thanks,
Vasanth

I was worried about the future of the platform and I still do worry
about the ultimate openness of it, but I must admit that I am
extremely excited about the direction it's taking and about the
impending release of the HTC Dream! The new UI in the updated
emulator is very attractive and extremely responsive. The addition of
things like StreetView to the maps in the new SDK are fantastic! My
initial excitement in the platform is reborn!

1. how to use of built-in hardware video codecs

I suppose that Android uses the OPENCORE from packet video to do all
the stuffs related to video encoding and decoding. I want to use the
built in capabilities of my processor which provides Standard level
encoding/decoding of multiple content formats including MPEG4, H.263,
H.264. How i will use the inbuilt hardware based encoding decoding
instead of Android's software based opencore ?

2. Recognizer plugins are not getting executed when I run .mp4 file playback use case

Hi All,

I have added few prints in the pvmp4ffrecognizer module source files.
when I ran a .mp4 file playback use case and collected the traces.
I could not find the traces that I have added.
I strongly doubt that during the .mp4 file playback none of the
functions from the pvmp4ffrecognizer module is getting called.
I am using an android media player application to run the .mp4 file.
Is my understanding correct?
If so, without executing the mp4 recognizer how is it able to play
the .mp4 file?

Thanks and Regards,
-Devaraj
