I am trying to create an application that reads information from a
database on a separate server(not the android phone). Does anyone
have any information on how to create a database connector class?

Write a Web service that connects to the database and runs on some
server, then access the Web service from the phone. I recommend
REST-style APIs, since Android does not have built-in support for SOAP
or XML-RPC.

2. Replacing Incoming Call Screen With Custom Screen

Hi

Is it possible to replace incoming call screen with custom screen. If
yes then how.
On other platforms, developers have achieved this by superimposing
their own screen and then following default actions.
The work/action is ofcourse done by the default phone application.
Can this be done on Android also? Has someone tried on these lines.

Thanks
